Cost: $30

Location: Poplar Springs Baptist Church

Each year, the Anchored Student Conference will focus on a different doctrine. For 2026, our focus will be the Doctrine of the Word. Many students know about the Bible and may be familiar with some Biblical stories. But what exactly is it? Where did it come from? Can we really trust it? How should we understand it? And what difference should it make in the way we live?

Anchored 2026 is a student conference designed to help students understand the doctrine of the Word of God and become more confident, capable, and committed readers of Scripture.

Over the course of three main sessions, breakout sessions, worship, Q&A, and time with pastors, we'll explore what the Bible is, where it comes from, why it can be trusted, and how we should respond to it.

MAIN SESSIONS

Session 1: What is the Bible even about?

Pastor Wayne Meadows will speak on Biblical Theology. The Bible isn't a collection of disconnected stories, moral lessons, and inspirational sayings. It's one unfolding story. Students will look at the big picture of Scripture and see how the Bible fits together as one unified story that ultimately points us to Jesus Christ.

Session 2: Did God really say this?

Pastor Josh Price will cover the inspiration of Scripture. Where did the Bible come from? What does it mean to say that Scripture is inspired by God? How can the words written by human authors also be God's Word? Students will explore what inspiration means and why it matters for our confidence in Scripture.

Session 3: Can I trust the Bible?

Pastor Curt Mize will speak about inerrancy. Does the Bible contain mistakes? Can we really trust everything Scripture says? Students will gain an understanding of the doctrine of biblical inerrancy and why they can have confidence that God's Word is true.

BREAKOUTS

Our breakout sessions will allow students to go deeper, learning how to handle God's Word for themselves. The breakouts are designed to give students practical tools for understanding, studying, applying, and teaching Scripture.

Potential Breakout Topics Include:

- How can I study the Bible for myself?
- What is the historical context of the Bible?
- How can I start to memorize Scripture?
- Which translation of the Bible should I use?
- How can I read the Old Testament in light of Christ?
- How can I learn to teach the Bible to others?
- Other than reading it, how do I engage the Bible?
